Mike Cooke
Mike Cooke grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He became a
police officer with the City of Los Altos in 1989 and specialized in
traffic accident reconstruction. He and his wife moved to Clark
County in 1994 with Mike taking a lateral transfer to the Clark County
Sheriff's Office.
Mike has worked in various units of the Sheriff's Office including
patrol, community outreach, accreditation, and internal affairs.
Mike was promoted to sergeant in 1997 and then to commander in
2008. He is currently the commander of the Clark-Skamania Drug
Task Force and the Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit.
Mike earned a bachelors degree in business from Concordia University
and a masters degree in criminal justice from Boston University.
In addition to his full-time law enforcement career, he is an adjunct
professor in the criminal justice department at Portland Community
College.
